Christian Cage alongside his family tried to retain but fell short
Christian Cage, who gained his reputation competing in WWE’s iconic ladder bouts, had another chance to shine on the largest platform. And such a well-deserved place. He remains the most bankable performer in the AEW All In.
Everything he does, including interviews, pre-tapes, matches, and even officiating, is worth seeing. He is amazingly confident in what his character says and does at all times. I’m still amazed that the man is 50 and still playing at such a high level.
Is this the match that ends the patriarchy? They’ve been preparing for the departure of Killswitch, also known as Luchasaurus, for quite some time.
Count me as someone who doesn’t give a damn about it, but it’s time to move the plot along. His turn on Christian will never get a better reaction than it would at Wembley, so maybe it’s time to pull the trigger. If not the patriarchy, who? Here find out who won.
AEW All In began with the London ladders match
The match began with absolute chaos, with wrestlers brawling everywhere as they tried to gain the upper hand. Christian Cage strategically bailed to the floor, allowing House of Black to be the first team to bring tables and ladders into play.
Buddy Matthews began climbing a ladder, but Austin Gunn cut him off, setting the tone for a frantic bout. Each attempt to ascend was thwarted: YUTA cut Gunn off, Black cut Wheeler off, and the pattern continued with every competitor trying to gain an advantage. PAC, looking for a moment of glory, took a high-risk move with a corkscrew moonsault to the floor, adding to the bedlam.
Inside the ring, the Ass Boys took over briefly, working over PAC with a “WAZZUP” headbutt, then called Juice Robinson to fetch a table. However, Buddy Matthews intervened, cutting Juice off. Brody King bulldozed his way through everyone, delivering a suicide dive that wiped out both Blackpool Combat Club and his own teammates, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the match.
Christian Cage then made his way back to the ring and tried to capitalize by setting up a ladder, but Brody King and Claudio Castagnoli teamed up to stop him, throwing him out like a sack of garbage.
The chaos intensified as Nick Wayne executed Wayne’s World off the apron, crashing through a table and stunning everyone. Meanwhile, Killswitch, standing guard, chokeslammed multiple competitors, including Juice Robinson and PAC, demonstrating his dominance.
However, Claudio managed to break free and stop Killswitch with a powerful headbutt, adding another twist to the match.
As the action unfolded, Juice Robinson tried to climb the ladder again but was intercepted by Buddy Matthews and then Nick Wayne, leading to a series of quick exchanges and brutal spots.
The match saw its fair share of high-impact moments, including Wayne diving into a flip piledriver through a table, and Cage getting back into the fray by crotching Juice on the ropes.
The final moments were a flurry of desperate moves. Killswitch pulled Buddy Matthews off the ladder, only for Matthews to throw a ladder back at him.
Matthews attempted to ascend the ladder, but Christian Cage executed a breathtaking spear off the ladder, sending Matthews crashing through a table. With the path seemingly clear, Christian climbed the ladder with Killswitch standing guard.
However, PAC had other plans. He scrambled back into the ring, fighting through the chaos, and made a desperate climb up the ladder.
Kicking Cage down in a last-ditch effort, PAC reached the top, grabbing the belts and securing a hard-fought victory. The crowd erupted as PAC celebrated atop the ladder, having outlasted every other competitor in a match filled with incredible high spots and relentless action.
