AEW Dynamite will feature some big matchups this week
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has recently announced the match card and segment for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. The 01/15 episode of Dynamite will be aired live from FAndrew J Brady Music Center, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Ahead of the Wednesday Night event, let us take a look at the match card and segment for the upcoming 01/15 episode of AEW Dynamite.
AEW Dynamite match card & segments
- Brian Cage vs Kenny Omega
- Jon Moxley vs Powerhouse Hobbs – AEW World Championship match
- Private Party & Mark Briscoe vs Hurt Syndicate – Trios match
- Christian Cage vs Hook
- Women’s Casino Gauntlet match (winner will get AEW Women’s World Championship shot at Grand Slam)
- Ricochet will speak
Brian Cage vs Kenny Omega
Kenny Omega will battle for the first time in a Jacksonville-based organization after having diverticulitis surgery. Brian Cage is ecstatic to face his ideal opponent. Cage took to Twitter/X to express his views ahead of the bout, saying he had nothing to lose and everything to gain.
He remarked that he was riding a wave of momentum and will present his greatest work. In a video statement, Cage stated that he has been waiting for this bout for years. He saw that if Omega was The Cleaner, he was the Delivery Man, as he delivered each time he entered the ring.
Cage claimed that his ideal match may be Omega’s nightmare, since he had nothing to lose and everything to gain. He said that their duel will be a battle of the machines. Cage then said that no one was better than him, not even Omega. He also indicated that their match will begin the broadcast, which would result in fewer commercial breaks.
Jon Moxley vs Powerhouse Hobbs – AEW World Championship match
Powerhouse Hobbs got the biggest opportunity of his professional wrestling career by winning Wednesday night’s Casino Gauntlet Match on AEW Dynamite.
Hobbs defeated some of the finest wrestlers in All Elite Wrestling to become the top contender for Jon Moxley’s title, including Hangman Adam Page, Jay White, Ricochet, Adam Cole, Jeff Jarrett, and Kyle O’Reilly. Hobbs defeated O’Reilly with a powerful spinebuster.
After the match, Renee Paquette chatted with Hobbs in the ring. He informed the Clarksville, TN crowd that Moxley was the one who brought him to AEW, but next Wednesday he’s going to make Mox his ‘b—!”
Powerhouse Hobbs may have complete faith in himself, but he will enter his first AEW Championship Match as the underdog. Maximum Carnage takes place in Moxley’s hometown, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Private Party & Mark Briscoe vs Hurt Syndicate – Trios match
MVP will make his in-ring AEW debut next week, as he and the rest of The Hurt Syndicate have been added to the lineup for AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage.
The trios squad, consisting of Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley, and MVP, will battle the defending AEW Tag Team Champions Private Party, as well as Mark Briscoe, who is joining the group for a Trios match.
The fight came together after The Hurt Syndicate interrupted Private Party during a celebration on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, with MVP leading a toast to Lashley and Shelton, whom MVP predicted would be the future AEW Tag Team Champions.
After the bout, Lashley competed against Briscoe and won. The Trios battle was eventually revealed on Saturday’s edition of AEW Collision, adding to the already packed schedule for Wednesday’s Dynamite.
Christian Cage vs Hook
HOOK has been warring with Cage and The Patriarchy in recent months, since the gang was identified as Taz’s assailants in October. Cage and Nick Wayne had previously defeated HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata on the December 18 episode of AEW Dynamite.
HOOK then defeated Wayne in AEW Rampage: New Year’s Smash. HOOK attacked Cage in a video message at AEW Dynamite: Fight For The Fallen, making it apparent that he was going after him.
