AEW Dynamite ratings continue to dip as viewership hits new low

The ratings are in for last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite
All Elite Wrestling‘s (AEW) Dynamite first premiered on October 2, 2019, and has become the flagship show for the promotion. However, the latest ratings for Dynamite’s 11/27 episode have been released, and the numbers paint a worrying picture for the promotion.
The promotion has three different shows that air weekly similar to the WWE. The promotion’s weekly programming consists of Dynamite which airs on Wednesdays(with some exceptions), Rampage which airs on Fridays, and Collision which airs on Saturdays (with some exceptions).
Dynamite marks the return of professional wrestling to TBS, a milestone not seen since the conclusion of WCW Thunder in March 2001.
However, in recent times the promotion has been struggling to deliver good shows which is reflected in its rating as the rating and viewership have been on a sharp decline for their weekly programs.
The 11/27 episode of AEW Dynamite was the Full Gear fallout episode
The rating and viewership data for the fallout episode has been released and the numbers are significantly down from last week’s show.
As per Wrestlenomics, the 11/27 episode of Dynamite drew 536,000 viewers and a 0.15 demo rating, marking a substantial decline from the previous week’s 640,000 viewers and 0.20 rating. The show ranked fourth in cable ratings for the evening.
The Thanksgiving Eve episode of Dynamite, which followed the Full Gear pay-per-view, showcased the opening three matches of the 2024 Continental Classic tournament.
Despite the event’s significance, it recorded a 0.15 demo rating, the lowest ever for Dynamite in its regular Wednesday time slot, and ranked as the third lowest in overall viewership.
Previously, the show had hit a 0.16 demo rating twice: once last month while competing directly with WWE NXT post-Election Day, and another time on June 19, 2024.
AEW is hoping this dip in ratings is a one-time occurrence tied to the Thanksgiving holiday. With the Continental Classic continuing through December, the promotion is counting on sustained fan engagement, while fans anticipate an exciting main event storyline featuring Jon Moxley’s Death Riders causing chaos.
Do you think Dynamite’s declining ratings are a result of poor booking or increased competition? What changes do you think the promotion needs to make to turn around Dynamite’s ratings slump? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
