The 2025 edition of Forbidden Door will emanate from the O2 Arena!

The 2025 edition of Forbidden Door is, as usual, co-produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), and is set to emanate in August for the first time and the first to take place outside North America.

The fourth edition of the show is scheduled for Sunday, August 24, 2025, at The O2 Arena in London, England, during the United Kingdom’s August Bank Holiday weekend

The show will go head-to-head with WWE NXT Heatwave, which is set to emanate from the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts. WWE’s Heatwave will emanate live from 7 PM ET, while Forbidden Door will emanate earlier at 1 PM ET.

NJPW star Hiroshi Tanahashi is set to wrestle in his final match in the United Kingdom at the PPV. He will battle Kyle Fletcher for the AEW TNT title.

AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) are scheduled to defend the titles against the team of Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) and FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) in a three-way tag team elimination match.

Furthermore, AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada accepted Swerve Strickland’s challenge to defend the title and will lock horns against Strickland at the Forbidden Door PPV.

After winning the Casino Gauntlet match at All In: Texas 2025, Athena signed the contract to challenge the current AEW Women’s World champion, Toni Storm, at the upcoming PPV. Athena is banking on Storm’s bad luck in London, which includes losing the title at All In: London in 2024.

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone is also set for a title defense in a four-way match on August 24, and her opponents were decided via qualifying matches. Mone will have to face one representative each from AEW, CMLL, and Stardom, namely Alex Windsor, Persephone, and Bozilla.

Furthermore, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr. will defend the title against Nigel McGuinness, while AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page will contest his title in a singles match against MJF.

Additionally, after their reunion, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will take on the team of Killswitch and Kip Sabian in a tag team match. AEW has also announced four matches for the countdown show.
