The American Dragon addressed his contract position with AEW

Bryan Danielson is preparing for one of the most important fights of his career when he will face Swerve Strickland for the World Championship in the main event of All In, which will take place at Wembley Stadium in London. While this will be one of Danielson’s greatest battles, it will also be his last, as the AEW star’s full-time in-ring career will finish in 2024.

The American Dragon is preparing for one of the most important fights of his career when he will face Swerve Strickland for the World Championship in the main event of All In, which will take place at Wembley Stadium in London. While this will be one of Danielson’s greatest battles, it will also be his last, as the AEW star’s full-time in-ring career will finish in 2024.

“Yeah, yeah. That’s true. August 1st, actually. Next Thursday. My wrestling contract is up. Which also happens to be my son’s fourth birthday.”

Will Bryan Danielson re-sign with AEW?

With AEW All-In scheduled for August 25, there is a high chance that Danielson might not sign with AEW with his in-ring retirement plans. Danielson was later questioned about the future when his contract expires. The American Dragon stated that he would not try to mimic MJF’s prior acts by creating a bidding war and that All In is his current primary objective.

“So I’m not saying this. Tony talked about this in an interview, so I feel comfortable talking about it. I’m not MJF-ing this. I’m not trying to use my contract to be like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna get all the money. Somebody give me all the money.’ Yeah, my contract is up August 1st.

When I signed this contract, me and Brie, we talked about how this would be the last wrestling contract I was gonna sign. So yeah, part of me is wondering what life is like after this. Part of me is excited about that. But right now, even though Wembley is after this, I still have to focus on that. That’s gotta be kind of my focus. So yeah, it’s a wild time.”

Tony Khan speaks up on Bryan Danielson’s retirement plans

The American Dragon has made it clear that 2024 will be his last year as a full-time ring participant. Preparing for one more monumental bout, Danielson will face Swerve Strickland for the World Championship in the main event of All In at Wembley Stadium, probably the largest match that AEW could offer Danielson at this point in his career.

While speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Khan addressed Danielson’s effect on AEW with TJ Jefferson, as well as how The American Dragon’s final full-time match would be emotional.

“We have so many great captains on this team and that’s what is exciting. We have great leadership and great people here, and I think it’s fair to say Bryan Danielson is a huge part of the company also, The American Dragon. Very excited to go to Wembley Stadium and we know that Bryan Danielson will be challenging Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at Wembley Stadium in London.

Swerve has said this will be Bryan’s final countdown. I can’t say how much time Bryan has left in the ring, but he has said this will be his final year, this is going to be the year Bryan hangs it up from full-time wrestling. At that point it’s going to be a sad day for pro wrestling, and for me personally. It’s great to have Bryan that I can talk to and have in the locker room with us every week.“
