Everything that happened on AEW Dynamite (August 28, 2024)

This week’s AEW Dynamite was fall out episode after the AEW All In
We’re coming off the All In 2024 pay-per-view when numerous titles were handed over, so the landscape of All Elite Wrestling looks significantly different than it did a week ago.
Following a brief review of All In, Jon Moxley walks through the crowd to his New Japan Pro-Wrestling entrance song.
When Tony Schiavone inquired how he was, Mox replied that he had been thinking about things that needed to be done.
He claimed it was time for him and Darby Allin to communicate before declaring that this was no longer the same firm. He walked away, leaving Schiavone confused in the ring. The fight began with Adam Page against Tomohiro Ishii.
Tomohiro Ishii vs ‘Hangman’ Adam Page
After a short interview, Ishii stepped out to face Page in the first encounter. His Conglomeration comrades elected to remain backstage. The two brawlers quickly began trading hard shots, which lasted for a long time.
This was by no means a technical conversation. These were two guys who liked fighting and did exactly that. The majority of the attack was strike-based, and neither guy took it easy on the other.
This was hardly a five-star clinic, but not every fight has to be like that. Sometimes it’s entertaining to send two bruisers into the ring and let them do what they do best. It was one of those moments.
Hangman won a hard-fought battle, but he was upset when he heard Swerve Strickland’s song. Swerve confronted Page, saying he feels terrible for him because he has become a petulant child. They decided on a cage bout at All Out.
Jamie Hayter vs Harley Cameron
Surprisingly, Cameron established an early lead against a recovering Hayter, but it did not last long. The former AEW women’s champion instantly reversed the situation and trampled on her.
Hayter stopped Cameron’s finisher and hauled her off the mat, landing three backbreakers in succession. A Hayterade clothesline sealed the victory in a matter of minutes. This was brief and expected, but Hayter looked beautiful, and Cameron did an excellent job selling her.
Hook and Conglomeration vs Strong and Learning Tree
The Learning Tree conducted an interview backstage before MJF appeared to discuss his loss to Will Ospreay at All In. He followed his normal procedure, making excuses for his failure before pledging to exact revenge on the new worldwide champion.
Daniel Garcia approached MJF from behind, intending to end his career with a piledriver from the corner, but security interfered. Garcia shouted at his competitor from the ring as he fled up the ramp, threatening to ruin his life.
The eight-man tag fight followed, pitting Chris Jericho, Big Bill, Bryan Keith, and Strong against Hook, Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, and Kyle O’Reilly.
Overall, this is precisely what you’d anticipate. AEW fights with six or more contestants are always chaotic since the referees bend the rules. It might result in a fun bout or a disaster.
This was someplace in between. It had some amusing moments and addressed several separate feuds at once, but it was also a predictable event.
Strong eventually tapped out to Hook, but he had his foot on the rope. The referee missed it, thus Hook’s squad was declared the winner.
Ricochet vs Kyle Fletcher
May celebrated winning the world championship from Toni Storm with a little commercial that looked shorter than it should have been.
The following match saw Ricochet’s Dynamite debut and first AEW singles encounter versus Fletcher. This was an extremely physical competition from the minute the bell sounded. Fletcher did an excellent job of portraying a youthful prodigy who did not want to be overshadowed by an approaching veteran.
The AEW rookie did not hold back, hitting plenty of the high-flying maneuvers that everyone enjoys, but he also did an excellent job selling Fletcher and making him appear like a legitimate danger. Instead of performing an aerial technique, Ricochet won with a modified reverse DDT dubbed Vertigo.
Bryan Danielson speaks on his retirement
As Ospreay was about to face Ricochet, PAC assaulted him from behind, leaving him lying on the stage. It appears that we will have to wait for The Bastard and The Aerial Assassin to resolve their rivalry before seeing Ospreay vs. Ricochet.
We also observed Marina Shafir strike many persons while Moxley watched. They appear to have allied to some sort.
The broadcast concluded with Bryan Danielson delivering a promo to commemorate his victory at All In to become the new world champion. The crowd at the State Farm Center in Champagne, Illinois, was ecstatic to see The American Dragon looking so joyful.
He addressed not being under contract, requiring neck surgery soon, and how his family is eager for him to return home. Jack Perry arrived on the big screen and boasted about his previous successes, including defeating Danielson once. Then Perry took him by surprise in the ring, revealing that we were seeing a taped speech.
He defeated the new champion with a running knee and finished the show by posing with the TNT and global belts.
