The Limitless One’s AEW contract is soon to expire

Keith Lee hasn’t competed in AEW since December 2023, and his contract is set to expire shortly. Lee has had a rocky career with AEW owing to injuries, unable to gain any meaningful momentum throughout his tenure with the team.

The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has been sidelined since December 2023 due to health issues, with the Limitless One undergoing double surgery at the beginning of this year for an unexplained injury.

Lee was scheduled to battle against Swerve Strickland at AEW’s Worlds End last year, bringing an end to a narrative that had gone on for months. However, his ailments forced him to be replaced.

Fans may never see Lee’s blow-off match against his old tag team partner. That’s because a recent report from Ibou of WrestlePurists claims Lee’s contract will expire ‘ relatively soon.’

There are no formal specifics on when Lee’s contract will expire or whether AEW intends to renew it. The corporation may also be able to add time that Lee has lost due to injury, although Tony Khan has not indicated that he will.

Fans were enthusiastic about Lee’s possibilities in AEW after being disappointed by his main roster stint in WWE. They frequently believed he had main event potential, but he has been unable to achieve it in AEW for a variety of reasons.

Lee joined AEW in February 2022 but has only appeared in 48 matches. This was owing to health concerns and uneven booking. The pinnacle of his career was his tag team stint with Strickland, during which they held the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Lee suffered greatly from COVID-19 during the conclusion of his WWE career, to the point that he felt he would die. That has been a constant fight for him as he strives to regain full fitness.

It remains to be seen what Lee’s future in professional wrestling holds if he decides to return to the ring. His wife, Michin, is presently on the WWE roster.
