Tony Khan addressed the question during a post-event media scrum

AEW President Tony Khan has shared his thoughts on the Stamford-based promotion holding an event in Orlando at the same time as AEW World’s End. WWE visited Orlando for its 12/28 Holiday Tour show.

Pro wrestling fans in Orlando, Florida were greeted with two shows from the two leading promotions on December 28. As mentioned above, All Elite Wrestling brought its Worlds End pay-per-view to the Addition Financial Arena.

Just 20 minutes away from the Addition Financial Arena, the Stamford-based promotion brought its Holiday Tour to the Kia Center in the same city. The live event was headlined by a Steel Cage Match featuring Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens.

Apart from the main event multiple stars from the WWE appeared during the live show including, The Usos, Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline, Naomi, Nia Jax, and more.

Khan discussed the clash between the two promotions during the media scrum after the World’s End PLE, stating that it was a win for wrestling fans in Orlando.

The AEW President lauded the Orlando fans for showing up for the events and stated that the arena and the city were a ‘tremendous host’.

“It’s great for the city of Orlando with two major pro wrestling events happening on the same night. There were thousands and thousands of fans at both shows. We had a capacity crowd here. It was so great being here at UCF. This arena has been a tremendous host, and for us and the community, it was great to have such amazing support from the fans.” Khan stated.

Khan highlighted that the strong turnout at both events showcases the widespread appeal of pro wrestling, both in the U.S. and globally. He also expressed his gratitude to fans for their continued support.

“It shows how strong worldwide pro wrestling, particularly here in the United States, is to have in one major American city with two promotions running head-to-head on the same night, to have two great crowds. I know our fans here were awesome, and it was a great show tonight, thanks to the Orlando fans. They were tremendous.” He added.
