Ricochet shocked the world by debuting for AEW at their premier event, All In.
Ricochet was always credited as one of the most athletic and high-flying wrestling stars of the modern era. He became a world-traveled athlete and landed a spot in WWE. Ricochet had a promising start in NXT at the global juggernaut, leading to him being called up to the main roster in 2019.
However, despite achieving multiple championships and being featured in top storylines, Ricochet was never perceived as more than a mid-card talent by the WWE Universe.
Moreover, months ago, he was written off WWE television programming after an attack by Bron Breakker amidst rumors of not re-signing with WWE and joining their rival promotion, AEW.
The speculation turned out to be indeed true, as Ricochet made his debut at their premier event, AEW All In, taking place on Sunday, August 25, at Wembley Stadium in London. He was revealed as one of the surprise entrants in the match and received a huge ovation despite not winning the match. With his arrival, the One & Only has now become an official member of the All Elite roster.
Who can be Ricochet’s first rival after jumping ship from WWE to AEW?
Ricochet made a huge first impression by debuting on the biggest stage AEW has to offer. With a new chapter of his wrestling career underway, the question now arises as to who could potentially be his first rival in AEW.
Even before Ricochet debuted in AEW, there were multiple rumors regarding a possible feud between him and Will Ospreay, citing their past rivalry and history on the independent circuit. Moreover, Will Ospreay himself won back the AEW International Championship from MJF at AEW All In. To give Ricochet a monster push right at the start of his AEW career, a feud with The Aerial Assassin could be on the cards.
Furthermore, he could also be slated for an extended feud with Will Ospreay’s best friend, Kyle Fletcher. The duo are already scheduled to battle against each other in the upcoming edition of AEW Dynamite, which could further translate into a long feud.
