Asian Para Archery Championships 2023: Indian men, women's recurve teams settle for silver

The women's team lost a close battle against Indonesia in the shoot-off.
The Indian men's and women's recurve archery teams clinched silver medals each after losing to South Korea and Indonesia respectively at Asian Para Archery Championships 2023. The recurve contingent had a sub-par outing in the individual category as none progressed past the quarterfinals stage but bounced back from the disappointment to finish inside the top two in team events.
In the final encounter against Indonesia, the Indian women's team comprising Pooja Jatyan and Pooja Khanna started positively by winning the opening set. The former is ranked WR-8 while the latter is positioned in the 29th spot worldwide.
Indonesia soon fought back to clinch the next two series and led 4-2. One of the Indian archers went on to miss the target in the last shot of third series which held back momentum.
However, in the final series the Indian duo fought back to with Pooja Khanna hitting a perfect 10 and thereby helping level scoreline at 4-4. The match at this point headed to the shoot-off and the scores once again stood at level terms. Both teams registered 15 points each in two arrows each, but the Indonesians scored a 9 and 6 to India's 7 and 8 helping them surge ahead and take the coveted top spot.
With this, Indonesia defeated India 5-4 to clinch gold medal. Later in the day, Harvinder Singh and Vivek Chikara combined to settle for silver after losing to South Korea 2-6. The Indian duo managed to win only one series out of the four played. All four series had respectable scores above 30 but the Indian duo fell short by fine margins.
