Indian archers will look to win medals for their country.
Indian archers are competing for five gold medals across the team and individual events. They are competing in compound categories (cadet and junior) at the Archery World Youth Championships in Wroclaw, Poland on Saturday.
The cadet (U-18) men’s and women’s teams entered the finals after terrific performances in the compound events. They will be looking to win medals in the tournament.
Earlier in the competition, the Indian team of Priya Gurjar, Parneet Kaur and Ridhu Senthilkumar combined for a total of 2067 to better the previous world record by 22 points in the cadet compound event. The top seeds lived up to that billing and have reached the final to face Turkey.
Indian recurve archers will play for medals on Sunday. Komalika Bari (recurve junior women), Sakshi Chaudhary (compound junior women) and Priya Gurjar (compound cadet women) reached the finals of their respective events at the World Archery Youth Championships in Wroclaw, Poland on Thursday.
The cadet archers from recurve and compound reached their respective finals after wonderful performances in mixed team events. These events were held on Thursday.
With 10 gold medal matches featuring Indians over the weekend, Indian archers have assured at least 10 medals in the tournament. Compound finals are taking place on Saturday, while the recurve finals will take place on Sunday.
Komalika Bari, among the finalists, is looking to become the only Indian other than Deepika Kumari to win the world championship gold in both cadet and junior categories of the recurve individual events.
