India has won 21 medals in the Continental Meet so far.

The Hockey competition in the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023 is scheduled to be commence 24 September 2023 at Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium in Hangzhou, China. India is the top seed in both the men's and women's section and will be eyeing for the coveted gold medal which also earns them a quota for Paris Olympics 2024.

In the previous edition, both the men's and women's team faltered in the knockout stages and failed to win the gold medal. The Indian men's team lost to Malaysia in semifinals while the women's team to home favourites Japan in the final.

India has won a total of 21 medals (four gold, 11 silver and six bronze medals) and is currently 3rd in the medals table behind Pakistan (eight gold medals) and South Korea (nine gold medals). In the men's section, India has won 15 medals (three gold, nine silver and three bronze) and on the other hand, the women's team has won six medals (one gold, two silver and three bronze medals).

The Indian men's team are heading into the quadrennial extravaganza post winning the Asian Champions trophy last month.
