Asian Games 2023: Updated medal tally after Day 4, 27th September

India shines on day four by bagging 8 medals.
India had a good outing today at the Asian Games 2023. The women shooters in the Indian squad won a gold and bronze medal in the 50m three-position individual event and a gold in the 25m Pistol Rapid team event. The 50m Rifle 3 Positions Team Women, 25m Pistol Women's Final, and the Skeet Men's Final all yielded silver medals for the Indian contingent. The men won another bronze medal in the Skeet 50 team event, thus increasing the overall count.
Sift Kaur Samra not only took the gold for India in the 50m three-position individual event but also set a new world record with a score of 469.6.
Meanwhile, in fencing, the men’s Foil Team Final saw South Korea pip hosts China for the gold medal. The South Koreans were trailing 20-25 at one stage but came from behind to win 45-38.
The women’s Épée Team Final saw South Korea take on Hong Kong, which too went in the favour of the South Korean team. Unlike the men’s event, the women’s final was a close call, as seen by the final scoreline of 36-34.
Coming to Sepak Takraw, Thailand and Malaysia triumphed in their semifinal men’s team matches, getting the better of South Korea and Laos, respectively. The Sepak Takraw men’s team finals will take place on the 29th of September, which will see Thailand and Malaysia take on each other. The Malaysian side lost to the Thais when the two sides last met at the 2023 South East Asian Games.
