Asian Games 2023: Updated India schedule for September 21

Indian women’s cricket and football teams will begin their campaigns.
The Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou will kick off officially from 23 September, but some disciplines have already begun due to their respective lengths. The Indian contingent is already in action in some disciplines like cricket and football among others.
On September 21, the Indian women’s cricket team will kickstart its campaign with a clash against Malaysia. While Harmanpreet Kaur is the official captain, the Indian team will be led by her deputy Smriti Mandhana as Kaur is serving a two-match ban.
Indian men’s football team will face Bangladesh in the group fixture after losing their previous tie to hosts China. Igor Stimac, head coach of the men’s national football team, has a huge task on his hands to deliver a win in order to keep hopes of qualifying for the next round alive.
Moreover, the women’s football team will begin their campaign with a fixture against Chinese Taipei. It is a tough fixture for the Blue Tigresses and they will hope to do better than their male counterparts and secure a win.
Lastly, Indian rowing and sailing athletes will also be in action on Thursday, hoping to bring some joy to fans back home with strong finishes in their respective races.
