Hangzhou Asian Games 2023: Full schedule of all sports, dates, venues and live streaming details

India have sent a record 655-member contingent for the continental event.
After an interval of five long years, the 19th edition of the Asian Games is about to commence from September 23. Having been postponed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023 will span 16 days and will conclude on October 08.
Talking about the Asian Games 2023, more than 10,000 athletes from 45 countries will represent their countries and compete for 481 gold medals that are on offer. India has sent a strong contingent of 655 athletes who will be competing fiercely in 41 disciplines out of 61 that are going to be played.
Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China, will be hosting the biggest Asian sports event in 54 different venues in Hangzhou along with five other co-host cities. A total of 40 sports, most of which will start after the opening ceremony on September 23, have been included in the 2023 edition of the continental showpiece.
However, few sports like cricket, football, volleyball, and beach volleyball are scheduled to begin from 19th September. Other than that, few sporting disciplines like Breaking and ESports will be making its debut, whereas sports like Chess and Cricket will be making their comeback in the 19th edition of the Asian Games.

What makes the Asian Games even more important is the fact that it gives an opportunity for athletes to earn direct entry into the Olympics. A total of 74 Paris Olympics quotas are on offer in Asian Games 2023. It’ll be interesting to watch who will be able to exploit the golden opportunity and make a grand entry into the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Where and how to watch live telecast and live streaming of Asian Games 2023?
In India, Asian Games 2023 will be telecasted live by Sony Sports Network on television, while it will also be available for live streaming on the Sony LIV app/website.
India won a total haul of 70 medals, including 16 gold, 23 silver, 31 bronze in the previous edition of the Asian Games in 2018. Only time will tell if India can surpass that number in Hangzhou.
