China’s football squad for Hangzhou Asian Games 2023

China are the host of the upcoming tournament
Gao Zhidan, director of the National Sports Bureau, said during the team's unveiling in Beijing on Tuesday that the Chinese squad, who have dominated the medals list at each Asian Games since 1982, should replicate that achievement in Hangzhou. China are also the host of the upcoming tournament.
According to Gao, "bringing glory to the country" and "fully demonstrating the enormous strength of China's contemporary sporting practice" are among the athletic "requirements" for athletes.
To "present a positive image of China's reform, development, and advancement in society to Asia and the international community," Gao added, all team members must also increase their "political awareness," keep in mind the "greater cause of the nation," and recall their responsibility.
The Chinese Football Association is in charge of the national football squad, which plays for Taiwan (Republic of China) in international competitions.
Despite the fact that the members of the squad were from British Hong Kong, the squad also took home gold at the Asian Games in 1954 and 1958.
