Olympic and World champion Neeraj Chopra will be in action in the men's javelin throw final.

Indian athletes continued to shine at the Asian Games 2023, adding more medals to the nation's growing tally. The standout performance of the day came from Parul Chaudhary, who made history by winning a gold medal in the women's 5000m finals in a thrilling finish. While Japan's Ririka Hironaka led for most of the race, Parul seized the opportunity in the final yards, dashing to victory with a time of 15:14.75.

In the men's decathlon event, Tejaswin Shankar secured the silver medal, setting a national record with a total score of 7666 points. This achievement marked India's first medal in the Decathlon since 1974 when Vijay Singh Chauhan claimed the last medal in the discipline. Bharatinder Singh previously held the national record, set 12 years ago, with 7,658 points.

The men's triple jump competition saw Praveen Chithravel clinch the bronze with his impressive first jump of 16.68 meters. Meanwhile, India's Mohammed Afsal had to settle for silver in the men's 800m after Saudi Arabia's Essa Ali overtook him in the final moments of the race. In the women’s 400m hurdles, Vithya Ramraj secured a bronze after a remarkable comeback.

In the boxing arena, Preeti Pawar earned a bronze in the women's 54kg category at the Asian Games 2023. Lovlina Borgohain, India's flagbearer in the opening ceremony, advanced to the finals of the 75kg category.

In the Individual Compound Archery, Ojas Pravin Deotale and Abhishek Verma ensured an all-India final. With a total of 67 medals, India continues to hold the fourth position in the medal tally and aims to reach a three-figure total.

The reigning Olympic and World Champion, Neeraj Chopra, aims to defend his Asian Games title from Jakarta 2018. Despite his close competitor, Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, being ruled out due to injury, Neeraj remains focused on delivering his best.

Kishore Kumar Jena's impressive performance at the 2023 World Athletics Championships puts him in contention for a medal at Hangzhou. Making the final of the men’s javelin throw event alongside Neeraj Chopra and DP Manu, Kumar seeks to break new ground.

  • Dipika Pallikal Karthik & Harinder Pal Singh (Mixed Team Semis)
  • Abhay Singh & Anahat Singh (Mixed Team Semis)
  • Saurav Ghosal (Men's Singles Semis)

Dipika Pallikal Karthik & Harinder Pal Singh will face Hong Kong in the semifinals of the Mixed Team event, while Abhay & Anahat take on a Malaysian pair in their semi-final match. Saurav Ghosal, the 2018 Asian Games bronze medallist, is set to compete against Hong Kong's Chi Hin Henry Leung for a chance to vie for the gold.

The Indian men's 4x400m relay team, boasting an Asian record time of 2 minutes 59.05 seconds, is a strong gold medal contender. The women's relay team also holds the Asian Games record and is favored to defend their title.
