Parul Chaudhary wins silver in women's 5000m Steeplechase at Asian Athletics Championships 2023

Parul Chaudhary won her second Medal at the Asian Athletics Championships 2023.
After winning the Gold Medal at the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase (9:38:76) has won her 2nd medal at the Asian Athletics Championships 2023. She won the Silver Medal at the Women’s 5000 M by clocking a time of 15:52:35. Yuma Yamamoto of Japan won the Gold Medal (15:51:16) and the Bronze Medal was won by Gayanthika Artigala of Srilanka (4:14:39).
This is her 3rd Medal in the Championships history. She also won the Bronze Medal at the 2019 Asian Athletics Championships in the Women’s 5000 M (15:36:03). She upgraded her Bronze medal to the silver medal this edition and will look to improve well. She aims to get Gold Medal at the Asian Games which will be her next big Target after World Championships. In an interview, she said she aims to break Lalita Babar’s ( First Indian to qualify for the Steeplechase final at the Olympics) National Record of 9:19:76 which she clocked at the 2016 Rio, Olympics.
Parul Chaudhary has been doing High Altitude training in Colorado Springs, USA for the last 3 months. It is situated at an altitude of 1800 M above sea level. The 28-year-old is confident that this will improve her stamina and she will soon go under 9:20:00. She recently broke the 5000 M National record with a timing of 15:10:35 at Sound Running on Track Fest competition in the USA. She also rewrote the 3000 M national record with a timing of 8:57:19.
After winning the Asian Championships in his pet event (3000 M Steeplechase), Parul is likely to qualify for the World Championships as the Area Champion as no other player from Asia has made the cut yet for the World Championships to be held at Budapest. Hungary from 19 August to 27 August.
