India’s sensation Neeraj Chopra will be in action in the men’s javelin throw event at the Diamond League Final. This year, the Olympic champion and World Athletics Championships’ silver medallist will look to lift his first-ever Diamond League trophy.

Neeraj will take part in his third Final after finishing seventh in 2017 and fourth in 2018. The 2018 final was a heart-breaking moment for the Indian champion as he missed out on a medal by a mere 0.03m.
Tough Competition
Chopra’s biggest rival, Anderson Peters, has pulled out of the event Final due to an injury he suffered last month. Still, the Indian is expected to face tough competition from other star athletes. Here is the start list for the event:
Neeraj Chopra, Patrick Galiums, Leandro Ramos, Curtis Thompson, Jakub Vadlejch, Julian Weber
Expectations from Neeraj Chopra
We have seen that Neeraj has not been at his best since the World Athletics Championships, as the Olympic champion missed the important CWG 2022. He admitted that his fitness is not at its peak, but he will be looking to breach the coveted 90m mark in the finals to secure his first-ever Diamond League Trophy.
