Paris silver medallist finished second with a best throw of 87.86m.
Neeraj Chopra finished second in the Diamond League Finals 2024 behind Grenada’s Anderson Peters. Chopra’s best attempt on the night was just a centimetre behind the farthest throw of the eventual champion in men’s javelin throw competition, Anderson Peters.
With this second-place finish, Chopra has finally concluded his season, in which he struggled with injuries, mainly groin-related problems, and yet managed to continue bringing titles and medals to the country.
While Chopra and his fans would be disappointed, having not gone any farther than 87.86m on the day, they can find solace in the fact that the defending world champion looked clean with his techniques despite the injury problems. Many didn’t fail to notice that, and since his technique is still as good as ever, Neeraj will continue to win when the next season begins.

The runner-up finish at the Diamond League Finals 2024 in Brussels also ensured that it has been more than three years and two months now that Chopra has finished below the second position in any tournament he has participated in, a kind of consistency which has been hard to find among many great athletes.
With the second-place finish and the difference between the top two being so little, we thought it would be the best time for us to bring you some of the best reactions from Twitter.

While the event was available to be watched live on the Jio Cinema app, the broadcast was the global broadcast, and hence, kept switching from event to event, not letting the fans have the opportunity to see the magic of Neeraj live.
While Neeraj Chopra may have won the Diamond League title in 2022, it was the first time Anderson Peters won it in his career.
The lady luck (ladybug) wasn’t on the Indian athlete’s side on the night as just a centimetre kept him from his second consecutive Diamond League title.
Perfect technique on a not-so-perfect day for Neeraj Chopra.
The greatest Indian athlete of all time? Without a doubt. Neeraj Chopra, as aforementioned, hasn’t finished outside the top two in more than three years and two months.
Neeraj Chopra will finally be back home after winning the silver medal in Paris and finishing second in Brussels.
