Eugene Diamond League 2024 – The Prefontaine Classic at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus will feature many of the world’s top track and field athletes this Saturday. Olympic and world champions will compete in exciting rematches in events like the women’s 800m.

In the women’s 10,000m, Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay continues her pursuit of the world record. American sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson makes her 2024 individual 100m debut after mixed results in relay and 200m races earlier this year.

The men’s 100m field is stacked, with three-time world champion Christian Coleman favored. He’ll face tough competition from Kenyan record holder Ferdinand Omanyala and others.

Rising American star Erriyon Knighton, 20, begins his outdoor season at the Prefontaine Classic. It’s his first race since an indoor 200m in February as he prepares for the Paris Olympics. Compatriot Kenny Bednarek, the Tokyo Olympic silver medalist, also competes.

World champions Grant Holloway (110m hurdles) and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (100m hurdles) headline strong hurdles fields as they look to extend unbeaten streaks.

Indian steeplechaser Parul Chaudhary makes her 2024 Diamond League debut in Eugene. She won Asian Games gold and broke the national record last year. The field includes world record holder Beatrice Chepkoech of Kenya.

Other standout distances at the Prefontaine Classic include a loaded men’s mile and stacked shot put competitions featuring Olympic and world championship medalists.
