2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra is set to participate in the 27th Federation Cup National Championship 2024, which is scheduled to take place from May 12 to 15 in Odisha.
The National Championship will take place at the Kalinga Stadium, which is also home to Indian Super League side Odisha FC. Moreover, the Federation Cup will be Neeraj Chopra’s first domestic competition since 2021.
Apart from Neeraj Chopra, 2022 Asian Games silver medalist Kishore Kumar Jena is also set to feature at the 27th Federation Cup. Nevertheless, before the Federation Cup, both athletes will be taking part in the Doha Diamond League on May 10.
Earlier this year, Chopra stated that he is eager to record a new personal best and break the 90-meter mark at the upcoming events. He said, “This year, my personal goal is to defend my Olympic title, but it would also mean a lot to me to break the 90-meter barrier.”

He said (via SAI Media), “I have won medals in two World Championships, threw my personal best (89.94 metres at Stockholm), won a dream Diamond League title and even defended my gold at the Asian Games. All in all, I have been in great space and want to carry forward that momentum from May onwards.”
