Lausanne Diamond League 2024 Highlights: Neeraj Chopra finishes second with new season-best throw

The Lausanne Diamond League 2024 will take place on August 22, with athletes will hoping to gain maximum points. The Athletissima meet is the 11th leg of the Diamond League series and the first one since Paris Olympics 2024. The 10th leg of the Diamond League was held in London on July 20 as this time there will be seven sporting disciplines for men and women.
There will be plenty of stars at Lausanne who achieved podium finishes at Paris Olympics 2024. They will further look to gain points and medals during the meet. The first event at Lausanne will be the men’s pole vault which will have Mondo Duplantis leading the field alongside Renaud Lavillenie and Sam Kendricks.
In the men’s 400m, Bryce Deadmon and Vernon Norwood will be hoping to strike gold. Meanwhile the men’s Javelin throw will see Neeraj Chopra take on Anderson Peters and Jakub Vadlejch. The women’s high jump will see the rivalry continue between Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Nicola Olyslagers, Eleanor Patterson and Iryna Gerashchenko.
Femke Bol will be the favourite in women’s 400m hurdles as Jamaica’s Rushell Clayton will hope for a podium finish. The final event at Lausanne will be the men’s 200m as Letsile Tebogo will be hoping to secure the win. He will be joined by Fred Kerley and Erriyon Knighton.
