Neeraj Chopra will return to Lausanne Diamond League 2024 for his first competition since Paris.
The Diamond League is an annual series of 15 top-level track and field competitions held across various global venues. The Lausanne leg of the Diamond League, also known as Athletissima, was previously one of the five IAAF Super Grand Prix events but is now part of the Diamond League series. Several stars from the recent Paris Olympics 2024, including Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, will be participating in Lausanne with the aim of clinching the top spot.
In his last appearance at the Diamond League, Chopra finished in second place. While Chopra missed out on the gold at Paris 2024, a good showing in Lausanne Diamond League 2024 will earn him a spot in the top six throwers who will qualify for the Diamond League finals to be held in Brussels on September 13-14.
