Mondo Duplantis has broken the world record thrice during the 2024 season in men’s pole vault.

Mondo Duplantis has been breaking records and soaring to new heights since 2020. His latest pole vault world record was set during the Silesia Diamond League 2024. Duplantis cleared 6.26m to set the world record for the tenth time in the event. He now holds the top ten highest jumps of all time in pole vault.

The tenth highest jump in pole vault of 6.17m was set by him in 2020 at Poland. At present, Mondo Duplantis is the most dominating athlete in track and field as his numbers suggest the same. As of August 2024, he is the only male athlete to hold the ten all time records in any track and field event.

Duplantis is the first athlete to clear 6.17 in the pole vault. The last athlete other than Duplantis to clear the 6.16m mark was Renaud Lavillenie in 2014. The Swedish athlete has been challenging his own records for the past few years as his present arch-rival Sam Kendricks has a personal best of 6.06m.

Mondo Duplantis on a journey to create more breathtaking feats

The pure domination and the standards that Duplantis has set in the pole vault is staggering. The Swedish athlete is the second man after Bob Richards to win two consecutive Olympic golds in pole vault. Duplantis could set more records if he maintains his momentum during the Los Angeles Olympics 2028.

He has been setting new world records at least twice every year since 2020. In the 2022 season, Duplantis achieved three world records and in 2024 he has done the same. The youngster has cleared the 6m mark 64 times in his career so far. His best is yet to come as the benchmarks keeps getting higher each season.

The 24-year-old has been dominating the event since 2020 and has since become a two-time Olympic and world champion so far. He is also a three-time Diamond League Finals winner and is currently leading this season’s Diamond League Qualifiers standings with 48 points.

Duplantis has been making sure his rivals are far behind him while constantly challenging the limits on the field.
