Indian long jumper Murali Sreeshankar undergoes knee surgery in Doha after being ruled out of Paris Olympics

Indian long jumper Murali Sreeshankar recently took to social media and provided an update about his knee injury, which has ruled him out of the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
Last week, the 2022 Asian Games gold medalist announced on Instagram that he would be missing the upcoming Olympics due to a knee injury. Murali Sreeshankar also shared a heartfelt message with his fans, stating that he will return soon and that his comeback will be even more significant than the setback from his injury. He wrote:
“I suffered a knee injury during training on Tuesday, and all tests and consultations later, it’s been decided that I would need surgery, ruling me out of the one single thing I have chased relentlessly all these years. My journey to a comeback began the minute I injured my knee. This road is going to be long, difficult and will take a lot out of me. The good thing is, I have a lot to give. I will overcome this, because that’s what Mamba Mentality is all about.”
The Indian long jumper recently updated his followers about his fitness on Instagram. He shared a story revealing that he has undergone successful surgery. Sreeshankar also expressed gratitude to his fans for their support and disclosed that the operation took place in Doha.
Murali Sreeshankar wrote in the story:
“The surgery was successful under Dr. Bruno Olory at the Aspetar Hospital, Doha. Thank you everyone for all your love and blessings during this tough phase. 18 hrs post surgery and I am already walking”.
