Ostrava Golden Spike 2024: Full schedule, fixtures, results, live streaming details

Neeraj Chopra has withdrawn from the tournament.
The world’s elite sprinters will take center stage at the Ostrava Golden Spike 2024, Czech Republic on Tuesday. The men’s 100m promises fireworks as Olympic champions Marcell Jacobs of Italy and Andre De Grasse of Canada lineup against each other.
Jacobs, the reigning Olympic 100m gold medalist, has a season’s best of 10.07 seconds, making him the fastest in the field this year. However, De Grasse, the 200m Olympic champion, will be looking to upstage Jacobs over the shorter sprint before doubling back for his specialty event later in the evening.
The 400m will also feature an Olympic champion as Steven Gardiner of the Bahamas takes on world indoor champion Alexander Doom of Belgium. Gardiner has been nearly unbeatable at this distance since 2017, though Doom’s recent 44.51 personal best shows he’s in fine form.
Field events will be highlighted by Swedish pole vault superstar Mondo Duplantis returning to try and improve upon his 6.12m meeting record from last year.
The world record-holder at 6.24m has been undefeated in 2024 so far. The javelin competitions are equally stacked, with the men’s event including world champion Anderson Peters of Grenada against home favourite Jakub Vadlejch, while Japan’s world champion Haruka Kitaguchi leads the women’s field.
