Lakshya Sen the 21-year-old lost to Ng Ka Long Angus from Hong Kong in straight sets. The first set was a bit competitive but the second set was one-way traffic where Sen looked totally of colour a sign of concern going into the World Tour Finals in China. Angus at one point took away nine straight points the highest conceded by the Indian youngster.
In the mixed doubles, the Indian duo of Ishan Bhatnagar/Tanisha Crasto lost to the Chinese pair Feng Yang Zhe/Huang Dong Ping in straight sets (13-21, 12-21). The pair will now look to start preparing for the most important 2023 season which is also the Olympic qualification year.
Many Indians are yet to start their campaign at the Hylo Open – Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy, Sameer Verma, Malvika Bansod, Saina Nehwal, and the French Open 750 champions Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.
