The men's pair of Satwik-Chirag have announced that they will not be taking any further part in the 2022 season.

India’s campaign came to an end in the semi-finals of the BWF Hylo Open 300 after both Kidambi Srikanth and young pair Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand lost their respective matches. Overall it was a good tournament for a few Indians like Malvika Bansod who reached the quarter-finals at the fag end of the season boosting her confidence going forward.

There were also quite a few withdrawals due to injuries - Dhruv Kapila/MR Arjun and in form HS Prannoy. In a week the European leg shifts to the Australian Open which will the last tournament of the 2022 season ahead of the BWF Tour finals where only the top 8 performers in each of the five categories this season qualify. Most Indian players will make use of this opportunity to increase their ranking points.

Satwik/Chirag Shetty pair has officially announced that they will not be taking part further in the 2022 season and will be back during the BWF Malaysian Open in January 2023.

Still a long way to go for Indian shuttlers

World Championships silver medallist Kidambi Srikanth lost to Ginting of Indonesia in straight sets (18-21,15-21). The World No. 6 was dominating for the majority of the match but Srikanth made use of some variations throughout which wasn't sufficient. The Indian led Ginting once in the first set 11-9 and since couldn't hold onto the narrow lead.

Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand lost to Benyapa Aimsaard and Nuntakarn Aimsaard of Thailand in the women’s doubles semi-finals (21-17, 14-21, 21-18) in a closely fought contest. The WR 28 Indian pair had a good 2022 season reaching the semi-finals of the All England Open but had a few injury concerns in the middle.

The Indian shuttlers will be in action next at the BWF Australian Open 300 which will commence on November 15.
