HS Prannoy is currently ranked ninth in the BWF rankings.

Indian badminton star HS Prannoy recently took to social media and shared a heartwarming post with his fans ahead of the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.

The 2024 Olympics are scheduled to start on July 26. The Badminton events in Paris are expected to end on August 5 (Monday). HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen, among others, have mathematically qualified for the sporting megafest. As a result, for the first time in 20 years, two Indian shuttlers are set to participate in the main draw of the men’s singles event.

As the Paris Olympics get closer, the Indian shuttlers prepare to give their best on the biggest stage. Consequently, HS Prannoy recently took to X (formerly Twitter) and stated that he’s ready to give his best performance in Paris. He wrote:

“Paris, here I come!! Ready to give my all and make my country proud. For this is not just my dream, but the dream of every Indian who dares to chase their aspirations against all odds.”

Recently, the 31-year-old uploaded a short video clip of his preparation for the 2024 Thomas Cup on Instagram. The tournament will start on April 27, and the Indian men’s team has been drawn in Group C alongside England, Thailand, and Indonesia. He captioned the post, “Bringing the heat, one practice session at a time, ‘coz we have got a cup to defend. It’s on”.

The Indian shuttler has had a sloppy start to his BWF campaign in 2024. This year, HS Prannoy has played 13 matches on the tour, where he has managed to win only five times. Moreover, three of his wins came at the India Open, where he reached the semifinals.

As a result of his below-par performance, Prannoy has also dropped two spots in the BWF men’s singles rankings (from seven to nine). Nevertheless, HS Prannoy’s calibre can’t be questioned as he can record wins while fighting with extreme pain.
