The Indian team will face Thailand in their first 2024 Thomas Cup match on Saturday
HS Prannoy recently took to social media and uploaded a post saying that the Indian team is ready to defend their title in the 2024 Thomas Cup.
The men’s Indian badminton team has already arrived in Chengdu, where the tournament is scheduled to take place from April 27 to May 5. During the last edition of the Thomas Cup, the Indian contingent recorded a historic triumph as they won the tournament, outplaying the likes of China and Malaysia.
Hence, the Indian team has decided to defend the title with the same team. Ahead of the 2024 Thomas Cup, HS Prannoy took to X (formerly Twitter) and uploaded a picture with the full team. He captioned the post, ”Rok sako tho rok lo”.
Reacting to the post, MR Arjun wrote, “we begin our title defense”. India has been drawn into Group C of the competition alongside Indonesia, Thailand, and England. They will start their 2024 Thomas Cup campaign against Thailand on April 27 (Saturday). Afterwards, they will face England on Monday, April 29, and Indonesia on Wednesday, May 1.
