FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2024 Day 2 Highlights: Indian women's team reach main draw, men knocked out

Having started with wins, the Indian men’s and women’s basketball teams will want to maintain their momentum and qualify for the main draw of the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2024. On day 1 of the qualifiers, the Indian men’s team eased past Maldives and Macau to front themselves as the favourites from Pool D to enter the main draw while the women’s team smashed Northern Mariana Islands in their opening match.

Today on day 2, the men will be in action against Malaysia, while the women’s team will be up against Hong Kong and Indonesia.

Malaysia vs India match highlights, Men’s FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2024 Qualifiers

On day 1, the Indian men’s team were first in action at the Singapore Sports Hub and they raced a comefortable 21-10 win over Maldives with Pranav Prince and Sahaji Pratap Singh Srekhon leading the points score for India with eight and seven points respectively.

In their second match against Macau, the Blue Cagers beat Macau 21-13 and this time it was Princepal Singh, who led the charge with eight points. They face Malaysia in their final Pool D qualifying match today with the winner progressing to the main draw. The winner from this group will join New Zealand and Qatar in Pool D of the main draw.

The final match of the day for India saw the women’s team in action and they came out all guns blazing. India blew aside the Northern Mariana Islands with a 21-1- win with Aneesha Cleetus registering 11 points. Today, India will face Hong Kong and Indonesia in their two remaining qualifying matches. The winner from this group will be paired alongside Mongolia and Malaysia in Pool C of the main draw.
