Former India players, perimeter sniper Joginder Singh Saharan and ex-Indian captain Sambhaji Kadam were announced as part of the support staff.
The team is very young age-wise but still has some veteran presence. Amjyot Singh Gill’s return marks a key stability in the team, as the team can rely on him during crucial times. The team has several three-point shooters in Muin Bek Hafeez, Kunwar Gurbaz Singh Sandhu, Arvind Kumar Muthu Krishnan and Harsh Dagar while key names like Vishesh Bhriguvanshi and Amritpal Singh are still missing.
The team lacks frontcourt depth but as Scott Flemming said, “We also have some guys that can really run the floor. So, we’re going to be an up-tempo team. We’re going to fast break.” This looks like a team that has quick feet.
This will be India’s do-or-die window, as losing both games can erase any possibility of qualifying for the FIBA Asia Cup next year.
BFI President announced the team is talks with former 3X3 Olympic Medallist to coach the national 3×3 team, which is a major step towards a booming culture of shorter format of the game.
