Conor McGregor’s bout with Jake Paul is targeted for the summer of 2025

Amid rumors of a boxing match between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul, recent reports suggest that a fight between McGregor and Jake Paul is reportedly ‘on the table’ for 2025 in India.

According to ESPN’s Salvador Rodriguez report a blockbuster boxing match between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor is being considered for summer 2025. The report suggests that the super fight could happen in India in the second half of 2025.

However, there has been no update an exact date on the location where the fight will take place in India. One thing is for sure when two of the most polarising stars of combat stars collide it will be a massive event.

McGregor recently denied rumors of a fight with UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria on X and instead stated that he will face WWE and YouTube sensation Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition match, with the event being backed by the Ambani family.

McGregor shared the announcement on social media, putting rumors to rest and revealing that he’s in preliminary talks with the Ambanis to make the fight happen in India. However, it seems like the former UFC double champion is gearing up to fight Logan’s brother instead.

A couple of hours after Rodriguez, the Notorious one took to his official X (Twitter) handle and posted a three-letter tweet. “TKO”

Many fans believe that the somewhat mysterious post seems to refer to the parent company of both the WWE and UFC. It is being interpreted as a hint that the UFC may not oppose this potential massive event, despite Conor being under a UFC contract.

McGregor has competed in UFC’s Featherweight, Lightweight and Welterweight divisions, while Jake has competed in the Cruiserweight and Heavyweight divisions.

Conor McGregor has been out of action since UFC 264

The Notorious one has been out of action since UFC 264 where he fought Dustin Poirier in a trilogy bout. The match took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada in July 2021.

However, the conclusion of the fight was anticlimactic for MMA fans as Conor rolled his ankle while stepping back, resulting in a broken lower tibia which rendered him unable to continue. The trilogy fight ended in a doctor stoppage and Poirier won via technical knockout.

Since the injury, there has been ongoing speculation about the return of the biggest star in combat sports history. McGregor served as the coach for The Ultimate Fighter 31 for the second time, with Michael Chandler as the opposing coach.

A fight between the two was planned for UFC 303 during International Fight Week on June 29, 2024. However, McGregor had to withdraw from the match due to a broken toe he sustained during training.

On the other hand, Jake Paul recently fought boxing legend, Mike Tyson last month on November 15, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
