Pro Panja League 2023: Baroda Badshahs, Kiraak Hyderabad register comfortable victories
Total of six teams are taking part in the inaugural edition
The sixth day of the inaugural edition of Pro Panja League 2023 saw some action-packed matches with Baroda Badshahs and Kiraak Hyderabad registering victories at the IGI Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday.
In the first match of the day, Ludhiana Lions took on Baroda Badshahs. First up for Ludhiana Lions was Tawheed Shaikh against Harman Mann of Baroda Badshahs in the 90kg bout. In the first round, Tawheed Shaikh used his power to pin down Harman. Tawheed then activated the challenger round and won the round in 3 seconds and then went on to won the bout by clean sweep and secured 6 bonus points for Ludhiana Lions.
Next up, Rupali Phule from Ludhiana Lions faced off against Badshahs Neetu Verma in 65kg bout. In the first round, Neetu used her forehand power and experience to her advantage to win the round. Neetu then activated the challenger round and an error by Rupali helped Neetu won the round. Neetu won the bout by clean sweep and helped team 6 earn bonus points.
Up next in the 65+kg bout, Kashmiri Kashyap of Ludhiana Lions was up against Badshahs Farheen Dehalvi. In the first round, Farheen used hook to her advantage and pinned down Kashmiri in a matter of seconds. However, in second and third round, Kashmiri changed her technique to top roll to win the rounds. The bout went to the fifth round and Farheen used her impeccable power to win the bout. In the undercard bout, Mohsin Shaikh and Shiwani Yadav earned two points for Baroda Badshahs to give their team a 2-1 lead. Afzal Khan secured one point for Ludhiana Lions. Baroda Badshahs won the match with a score line of 15-13.

In the second match, Shahil Hussain, Rahul Mahar and Madhura KN earned three points for Kiraak Hyderabad in the undercard bout to hand their team a big 3-0 lead. In the main card, Hyderabad’s Stewe Thomas faced off against Kochi’s Akash Kumar in the 70kg bout. In the first round, Stewe used top-roll technique to win the round. In the second round, Stewe blocked hook from Akash to win.
Akash then activated the challenger round but he was pinned down by Stewe in just one second. He won the bout by clean sweep.
Up next, Hyderabad’s Ahmed Faizan Ali faced off against Kochi’s Don Abraham in 100+kg bout. Don Abraham put up a powerful performance as he won the bout by 10-0. In the final 60kgbout, Hyderabad’s Naveen MV was up against Kochi’s Shoukath VT. In the first round, Naveen locked Shoukath in a combo of hook and top roll to win the round. Naveen then won the bout 5-0 with a clean sweep. Kiraak Hyderabad won the match with a score line of 18-10.
Ludhiana Lions will take on Rohtak Rowdies, and Kiraak Hyderabad will face off against Mumbai Muscle on Thursday, August 3rd, 2023.
