This is likely to be the last World Cup for Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who is 36 years, 117 days old. Not just this World Cup, this is the last phase of his career. He is playing aggressive cricket and is not worried about his personal milestones. Indian fans will hope for him to continue and lead the country to glory.

He has played 150 games out of the 154 ODIs that his country has played in history, which is such a remarkable feat. Roelof van der Merwe from Netherlands is the second-oldest player in this tournament. The veteran spinner started his career in South Africa but then switched countries in search of more opportunities. He is a vital part of Dutch set-up and one of the most experienced performers for them. Van der Merwe is 38 years and 278 days old as of now.

Not many would have known that Netherlands' top-order batter, Wesley Barresi, is the oldest player to feature in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Interestingly, he was also part of Netherlands team that played in the 2011 World Cup in India. Wesley is 39 years and 155 days old and the most experienced player on his team.
