Glenn Maxwell scored 41 runs off 24 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes against New Zealand.

Australians have kept their assault going against New Zealand bowlers at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. After a magnificent performance from Travis Head (109) and David Warner (81) at the top, Glenn Maxwell kept the momentum going after a few quiet overs in the middle. Maxwell was at his brutal best and carried on from where he left off against Netherlands in Delhi. Australia cruised through their third consecutive 350+ total in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Glenn Maxwell, coming in at No. 6, played a magnificent cameo adding 41 runs to Australia's tally in just 24 balls. Maxwell smashed five fours and two sixes in his short innings. Australia were going a little slow when they lost David Warner and Travis Head. Maxwell showcased his power-hitting ability and smashed a few big shots in the game. There was a shot from Maxwell that went over the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.

Glenn Maxwell's 104m long six

In the 43rd over, Glenn Maxwell smashed Mitchell Santner out of the ground twice. In his first strike, the ball went over 104 metres long and landed on the roof of the stadium. Santner delivered one outside off, and Maxwell walked down the track to get it within his reach. Maxwell then launched it over the long boundary line for a maximum. Maxwell has been in top form in this ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India and scored the fastest World Cup hundred in the previous innings.

Glenn Maxwell then again went to smash a big six over mid-wicket. Mitchell Santner was again looking to deliver one outside, but Maxwell was in rhythm to smash a big six. Maxwell added 51 runs in 6 overs along with Josh Inglis (38) to earn back the momentum. Earlier, after losing Travis Head in the 24th over, Australia added only 74 runs in 15 overs in the middle overs. New Zealand were looking to get back into the game, but Maxwell’s cameo put them back once again.

Later on in the innings, captain Pat Cummins played a brilliant cameo to put Australia on top. Pat Cummins smashed 37 runs in just 14 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes. Cummins also smacked Jimmy Neesham with three sixes in his second over and fetched 20 runs in his last four deliveries. Josh Inglis also played a crucial knock at the end and scored 38 runs on 28 balls. Australia smashed 32 fours and 20 sixes in their innings. New Zealand need 389 runs for the victory.
