2 Indians included, Pat Cummins to lead as ICC announces test team of the year 2023

No Pakistan player has been named in the ICC test team of the year 2023.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced its best test XI of the year 2023 and included two Indian players. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin have found a place in the ICC-announced test XI of the year 2023. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin had terrific performance for India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia last year.
Australian skipper Pat Cummins, who had a terrific year in 2023 and won two big ICC titles, has been named as captain of the ICC test team of the year 2023. Cummins led his side to a magnificent World Test Championship final against India at the Oval. five Australian cricket players are part of the ICC test team of the year 2023.

Australia’s Usman Khawaja and Sri Lanka’s Dimuth Karunaratne are the two openers in ICC’s test team of the year. Usman Khawaja had a magnificent 2023 and scored 1210 runs in 13 test matches. New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has been named as the No. 3batter, he led New Zealand to a magnificent test victory against Sri Lanka in Christchurch.
England middle-order batter Joe Root has been slotted at No. 4. Root had a terrific Ashes 2023 and helped the English side equal the Ashes after trailing 2-0 initially. Travis Head hit a magnificent match-winning century in the WTC final against India and scored 163 runs. Head is in as the number 5 batter. Ravindra Jadeja has also been named in the team as an all-rounder.
The ICC picked Alex Carey as wicket-keeper of the team. Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Stuart Broad are the three pace bowlers in the side with Ravi Ashwin being the lone off-spinner. Pat Cummins was picked as captain of the playing XI. England pacer Stuart Broad retired from cricket during the Ashes last year.
