Two Pakistan matches in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 likely to be rescheduled - Reports

Pakistan are scheduled to take on Netherlands in their opening fixture of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
In the latest development of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Two of Pakistan’s games might be rescheduled after the Pakistan Cricket Board requested the authorities. Pakistan were originally scheduled to play against the Netherlands on 6th October. Now, according to a few media reports Pakistan Cricket Board asked to change the date of their opening game. Pakistan might play their opening game on the opening day of the Cricket World Cup or on 7th October. Pakistan will play the second game of the World Cup 2023 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
India vs Pakistan game dates might also get changed
The big business game India vs Pakistan might also be shifted to some other date. Gujarat Authorities requested the BCCI to consider the change in India vs Pakistan clash as 15th October will be the first day of the Holy 9-day Hindu festival of Navratri. Navratri is celebrated widely in the country with big pandal gatherings, especially in the state of Gujarat where the match will be played. The game is likely to be shifted on 14th October, one day before the original scheduled date. The World Cup schedule with final changes will be announced soon.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah also informed the media a few days ago that final changes in the schedule will be out with the required changes as 2-3 Full-members have also requested changes in the original schedule. Pakistan have almost a week gap between their first and second game as they will take on Sri Lanka in their second World Cup clash at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on 12th October. Pakistan might also object to the 14th October date for the big India clash.
The World Cup will be played around 10 venues in India, Two extra venues have been picked for the Warm-up games. Trivandrum and Guwahati are picked as warm-up games’ venues along with Hyderabad. Hyderabad will also host 3 main event games. Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata, Dharamshala, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad will host World Cup games. The World Cup will begin with England taking on New Zealand at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on 5th October.
