India's tour of South Africa 2024
3 Indian players who might get benched throughout the test series in South Africa

The test series between India and South Africa will start on December 26.
Team India have had a good start on their trip to South Africa. The three-match T20I series ended 1-1, while the visitors won the ODI series 2-1. Now both teams will lock horns in a two-match test series. The first test is all set to start on December 26, which will be a boxing day test played in Centurion.
This series will be part of the ongoing World Test Championship, which is why it is very important for both teams. Hence, we will see a thrilling contest between the two teams. Team India will be led by Rohit Sharma, and all the big names are back in the squad. However, with only two matches to play, there might be a few players who do not get a game. Here we will talk about three Indian batters who are likely to sit out during the upcoming test series.

3. KS Bharat :

Srikar Bharat made his entry into the squad after Ishan Kishan decided to withdraw from the test series, citing a break from cricket. Hence, BCCI added Bharat to the squad. But there are big chances that he doesn’t get a game. KL Rahul has already confirmed that he will keep the wickets in test cricket as well which means he will be India’s first-choice wicket-keeper and Bharat will miss both games.
2. Prasidh Krishna :

Prasidh Krishna is yet to make his debut for India in test cricket. He is part of the squad after Mohammed Shami was ruled out due to injury. India are likely to go with a combination of three pacers and two spinners. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj will be certain, while Shardul Thakur will get the nod because of his batting ability. Hence, Prasidh might have to warm the bench.
1. Mukesh Kumar :

Mukesh Kumar has been playing cricket for India across formats frequently. But with all the senior bowlers back in the squad, he is expected to sit out. He is the only bowler who is part of all three squads for the South African tour and has played in T20I and ODI series. Mukesh is likely to make way for the bowlers. It is the same case as Prasidh Krishna.
