The Indian Cricket Team are gearing up for the fourth test against the England Cricket Team, scheduled to be played from July 23 at Old Trafford, Manchester. Ahead of the game, the Shubman Gill-led side has faced a big blow as Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the series.
Reddy sustained a knee injury during a gym session and was deemed unfit to take part further in the series. He will be flying back home soon. The all-rounder scored 45 runs and picked up three wickets across two matches.
Now, India will need a replacement for him to get that balance again in the squad. On that note, below are three players who can replace Nitish Kumar Reddy in the squad for the last two tests against England
ENG vs IND: 3 players who can replace Nitish Kumar Reddy in Indian squad for last two tests against England
1. Harshit Rana

Harshit Rana will be a good choice to replace Reddy in the India squad for the last two games. Rana was picked as a backup pacer in the India squad during the first test at Headingley. Rana has shown decent form in a few tests so far. Rana will add depth to India’s pace attack, especially with fast bowlers struggling with injuries.
2. Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is a seam all-rounder like Reddy; however, he only features in limited-overs formats. Pandya has played 11 tests in his career so far, and his last match was against England in 2018. This is a perfect time for Pandya to make a return to test cricket and play on a short-term basis, similar to what Moeen Ali did for England a couple of years ago.
3. Mukesh Kumar

Notably, India has faced a few injuries in their pace department. Arshdeep Singh has been ruled out of the fourth test, and Akash Deep reportedly is unfit for the game in Manchester. In such a scenario, India can go ahead with a pacer like Mukesh Kumar as a replacement. He will help the team fill the vacant spots in the pace department during the next two games.
