Let's take a glance at three players who could replace Wanindu Hasaranga in LSG squad if he is ruled out of IPL 2026.

Wanindu Hasaranga is recovering from a hamstring injury and might miss IPL 2026.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are mulling over the fitness of Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. He was bought by the franchise at his base price of INR 2 crore in IPL 2026 auction in December last year.

However, the right-arm spinner is still recovering from a hamstring injury, which he sustained during T20 World Cup 2026 in February. Due to the injury, he was also ruled out of the tournament after the opening game against Ireland.

The countdown for IPL 2026 has begun but the Sri Lankan star is yet to attain his full fitness. With his history of injuries, there are chances that he might miss the tournament if he is unable to recover in time. Below are three players who would be the best option to replace Wanindu in LSG squad if he is ruled out of IPL 2026.

Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman was part of IPL 2026 auction but went unsold at his base price of INR 2 crore. The right-arm spinner would be a one of the key choices to replace Hasaranga in LSG squad.

In 20 games in his IPL career, the Afghan spinner has clinched 20 wickets at a decent economy of 8.34. He was also part of the Afghanistan squad in T20 World Cup 2026.

2. Maheesh Theekshana

Like Hasaranga, Mahesh Theekshana is a spinner from Sri Lanka and has good experience in IPL. He has featured in 38 games in the tournament and accounts for 36 wickets at an economy of 8.27.

At his base price of INR 2 crore, he could not find any buyers in IPL 2026 auction. Theekshana has played over 80 T20I games for Sri Lanka and has a great experience in international cricket.

3. Michael Bracewell

Michael Bracewell is a spin all-rounder from New Zealand, who also led the Black Caps to victory in the ODI series against India in January. He was part of IPL 2026 mini-auction but went unsold at his base price of INR 2 crore.

He has featured in five games in IPL, clinching six wickets at an economy of 8.64. He also has been handy with the bat and could act as a perfect replacement for Hasaranga. Bracewell has also impressed with his performance in India.
