India's tour of Australia 2025
Three star Indian cricketers who have been ignored for T20I series against Australia

Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed as captain of Indian team for the T20I series against Australia.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-members squad for the five-match T20I series against Australia starting on November 23 in Vishakhapatnam. They have rested the senior players for the upcoming series and given Suryakumar Yadav an opportunity to lead team India in his favorite format of the game. Surya will be leading Indian side for the first time in his career, and this gives a sense of India’s preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2024.
Apart from Suryakumar Yadav’s elevation, the selected squad gives a big signal for the future of Indian team in the T20I format. The selection panel led by Ajit Agarkar has given preference to players according to their recent performances in IPL and domestic leagues and dropped several big names from the future plans. The selected squad will be taking this as an opportunity to confirm their berth for the upcoming major international event next year in West Indies and USA. There are a few names that missed out on selection for the big series.
Here are a few big Indian stars who missed out on India squad for Australia T20Is:
1. Sanju Samson :

Sanju Samson's inconsistency in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and performances in the last few games for Kerala may have caused a big roadblock in his Indian team selection for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia. Sanju Samson hasn’t been a regular member in Indian team, even after a few decent shows with the bat. Sanju was overlooked in the World Cup 2023 team as well, and selectors gave preference to Suryakumar Yadav.
2. Yuzvendra Chahal :

Yuzvendra Chahal has been away from international action since August 2023. West Indies tour was the last time Chahal represented India at the international level. He was rested from Ireland tour, dropped from Asia Cup 2023 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, and also didn’t find a place in Asian Games squad. Now again, he is overlooked for the T20I series, which is a big statement about his international future. Chahal will find his exclusion tough to digest in the T20I format.
3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar :

It certainly looks like the end of the road for Bhuvneshwar Kumar in Indian cricket. Despite a stellar performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023–24, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been overlooked. He has not played a single game for team India in the last 12 months. His last game for team India came in November 2022 against New Zealand. Bhuvi picked up 16 wickets in seven games for Uttar Pradesh in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.
