This is because of the quality of players that India have produced over a period of time. Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for playing the most number of test matches and has been part of many wins for India. And here we will talk about the top five Indian cricket players that have been part of the most number of wins in test cricket.

5. Rahul Dravid – 56 wins :
Former Indian captain Rahul Dravid was one of the finest batters that the game has ever seen. He retired as one of the top-scorers in international cricket. Dravid made his test debut at Lord’s in 1996 and smashed a brilliant 95 runs in his debut innings to announce his arrival. He played a total of 164 tests and scored 13,288 runs at 52.31 with 36 hundreds and 63 half-centuries. Dravid was involved in 56 wins in his career, 48 defeats, and 59 draws.
4. Cheteshwar Pujara – 58 wins :
Cheteshwar Pujara is the perfect ambassador of test-match batting style in modern era. The veteran Indian star has established himself as a temperamentally strong batter who performs consistently irrespective of the conditions. He made his test debut in 2010 against Australia. Pujara has so far played 103 test matches and scored 7195 runs at 43.25 with 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries. He has won a number of matches for India. Overall, he has been part of 58 wins, 27 defeats, and 18 draws.
3. Virat Kohli – 60 Wins :
Virat Kohli doesn’t need any introduction to this game. He is one of the reasons that the world loves to watch test cricket. His batting in the last five years or so forced fans to watch this format. Since his debut in 2011, Virat has played 114 tests and scored 8871 runs at 48.74 with 29 tons and 30 half-centuries. He has been involved in 60 wins, and 40 of those came as a captain.
2. Ravi Ashwin – 60 wins :
Veteran Indian off-spinner Ravi Ashwin has been one of the prime reasons for India’s success in the last decade or so. Since making his test debut in 2011, Ashwin has played a total of 101 test matches. He has taken 522 wickets and has also scored 3422 runs with six hundreds. Ashwin has been part of 60 wins, 24 defeats, and 17 drawn matches.
1. Sachin Tendulkar – 72 wins :
Sachin Tendulkar is a legend of the game, and there is no other batter who will achieve what he has in his career. One can find him at the top of almost every batting record. He has played 200 test matches in his career and scored 15921 runs at 53.78, including 51 tons and 68 half-centuries. Sachin was part of 72 wins, 56 defeats, and 72 draws.
