‘I don’t see Ashwin in India's World Cup 15’- Aaron Finch has a big say on Ravi Ashwin chances in World Cup 2023

Former Australia captain Aaron Finch opined on Ravi Ashwin inclusion for World Cup.
Former Australia captain Aaron Finch has made a huge statement regarding veteran spinner Ravi Ashwin’s chances of getting picked in India’s 15-members squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
An injury to all-rounder Axar Patel has been a blessing in disguise for the senior spinner, who is known for ruling the roost in Indian conditions. He was recalled into Indian squad for Australia ODI series, and in two matches thus far, he has shown his mastery when it comes to countering attacking batters on Indian pitches.
Ashwin is competing for a position on the same Indian lineup after being passed over by the selection committee for a World Cup team that didn't have a single off-spinner. Superstar Ashwin established his dominance by orchestrating the top-order collapse of Australia in the series-deciding match against India on Sunday at Indore in the absence of spinner Axar.
Ravi Ashwin might struggle to make it to the final 15: Aaron Finch
If Axar is unable to prove his match fitness before World Cup, Ashwin might punch his tickets for the showpiece event.
However, Aaron Finch, a member of Australia’s 2015 World Cup-winning team, believes Ashwin will find it hard to feature in the 15-members squad for the World Cup.
"I think he (Ashwin) might struggle to make it to the final 15, but as somebody who has played so much cricket, I think the rest of the group that is with the Indian team for this current series against Australia could learn so much about big gameplay," Finch said on Star Sports.
"Because Ashwin is somebody who stands up in big games, whether it's a Test match or a T20 game, he has done it all throughout his career. So I wouldn't be surprised if he's there at the moment as a mentor around the group, but I don't see him making that last 15, unfortunately," added Finch.
India will play Australia in the third and final ODI in Rajkot on September 27.
