‘Bigot of the highest order’- Ex-Pakistani pacer slams Varun Aaron for saying Jasprit Bumrah is better than Wasim Akram

Varun Aaron had made the statement after Jasprit Bumrah’s performance in the England test series.
Former Pakistan fast bowler Abdur Rauf has criticized ex-India speedster Varun Aaron for claiming Jasprit Bumrah was superior to the famous left-arm seamer Wasim Akram.
Wasim played for Pakistan in 104 tests, taking 414 wickets at an average of 23.62. He is also the second-highest wicket-taker in ODI history, with 502 wickets in 356 appearances for an average of 23.52.
Despite this, Aaron claimed that Bumrah may already be superior to the Sultan of Swing, especially given his international achievements thus far.
“Calling him a genius would be an understatement. He has now gone past Wasim Akram in terms of wickets taken in SENA countries. That says it all for me because Wasim was arguably the best fast bowler to walk the face of the earth—and Bumrah is pretty much the same, if not better,” Aaron said during a recent interview.
This came after Bumrah took 14 wickets in the recent England test series. Bumrah played three tests and took two five-wicket hauls, including one in the third test at Lord’s.
“Bigot of the highest order”—Abdur Rauf snarls at Varun Aaron for disrespecting Wasim Akram

However, former Pakistan pacer Abdur Rauf, who played 3 tests, 4 ODIs, and 1 T20I in the 2008-09 season, has slammed Aaron for his statement on Akram.
“I am surprised by those former Indian players who compare Bumrah with Wasim Akram. It wouldn’t be surprising if a common person with no understanding of cricket said such a stupid thing, but if a Test cricketer did this, it means that he either has no knowledge of cricket or is a bigot of the highest order. Wasim Akram was, without any doubt, one of the greatest fast bowlers in cricket history. No one can ever match his naturally gifted skills,” Rauf posted on X, as per Geo Super.
Akram is widely regarded as the best left-arm pacer and one of the best pacers ever to play international cricket.
