The BCCI central contracts will be announced soon.
According to reports in Cricbuzz, opener Abhishek Sharma is going to be part of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) central contracts list. The central contracts for 2024-25 season are expected to be released soon. Along with Sharma, Nitish Reddy and Harshit Rana are also expected to be part of the BCCI’s central contract list.
Sharma, who plays for Punjab in the domestic circuit and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has shown a wonderful form over the last year for Team India. He slammed a century in his debut T20I series against Zimbabwe last year.
Recently, in the ongoing IPL 2025, the SRH batter slammed an impeccable century against Punjab Kings (PBKS) to drive his team to victory during a chase. The left-handed batsman also shattered the third-highest individual score in the IPL history.
Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy and Harshit Rana to get BCCI’s central contracts
According to BCCI policy, cricketers who have played a minimum of three tests or eight ODIs or 10 T20Is in a specified period are included in Grade C category in central contracts. The players part of Grade C currently have a salary of INR 1 crore. Sharma made his T20I debut for India in July 2024 and has played a total of 17 T20I matches. Hence, has has automatically qualified for a Grade C contract.
Nitish Reddy, who was part of India’s squad for Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, has played five tests and four T20Is for Team India. He made his international debut in October 2024. Since then, he has played five tests for India. He grabbed the limelight with his all-round show in IPL 2024 and then made it to the Indian national side, where he performed well.
Fast bowler Harshit Rana has played two tests, five ODIs, and one T20I for India so far. He was also part of the BGT 2024-25 in Australia. Although he does not fulfill the required number of games across three formats separately, he has played enough games to make an entry into the BCCI’s contract list.
