Pakistan Cricket Team spinner Abrar Ahmed achieved a massive feat during the Super Four clash of the Asia Cup 2025 against Sri Lanka Cricket Team on Tuesday, September 23. Abrar registered the most economical four-over spell in T20I Asia Cup history by spinners.
The 27-year-old picked one wicket and conceded just eight runs off his four overs, registering an economy rate of 2.0. He got the crucial wicket of Wanindu Hasaranga as he spun web around the Sri Lanka batters with his variations.
Leaking just eight runs off four overs, the right-arm leg spinner broke former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh’s record of the most economical spell by a spinner in T20I Asia Cup. During a clash against United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Asia Cup 2016, Harbhajan picked one wicket for 11 runs across his four-over spell.
