Afghanistan Cricket Team set to play a Test match after 2 years
Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh in their last test match in 2019.
Afghanistan are set to play a test match after 2 years. Bangladesh will host Afghanistan at Sher-e-Bangla national cricket stadium in Dhaka. One-off test will begin on 14th June. Afghanistan Cricket Team will land on Bangladesh soil on 10th June. Afghanistan have not played a test in the last two years. They last played a test against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi. They played a two-test series, and the result came a 1-1 draw. Before the Bangladesh tour, Afghanistan will play a white ball series against Sri Lanka. Afghanistan’s tour of Bangladesh will commence in two parts.
Afghanistan will travel to India
It is now confirmed that Afghanistan will come to India after playing a one-off test against Bangladesh. On 19th June, just a day after the test against the Afghans will fly to India to play a limited-overs series. After that, they will again travel to Bangladesh for a 3-match ODI and 2-match T20I series in July. According to a media report, the ODI series will commence on 5th July in Chattogram. The 2nd and 3rd ODI will be played on 8th July and 11th July respectively. The T20 series will happen in Sylhet on the 14th and 16th of July.
When the last time these two teams faced each other in a test match, Afghanistan stunned the Bangla Tigers by a huge margin. Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by a huge 224 runs margin in Chattogram in 2019. Leg spinner Rashid Khan emerged as the hero of the game with 11 wickets in 2 innings. Rashid Khan has been doing well in the IPL 2023. Afghanistan have played 6 tests since they got test status and have won 3 of them. So far, they have won a test against Ireland, Bangladesh, and Zimbabwe.
