Afghanistan Schedule for ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Fixtures, Dates, Venues

Afghanistan made their debut in the ICC T20 World Cup in 2010.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is all set to start on June 1 and will be co-hosted by the USA and West Indies. This tournament will feature 20 teams from different parts of the world competing to win the prestigious title. The schedule of the tournament is out, and it will see a total of 55 games, including the final on June 29 in Barbados. Teams will be divided into four groups consisting five in each.
Group C will have New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea in it. Two teams from every group will make it to the Super 8, and then the top four teams among them will make it to the semi-finals. Group C is looking more deadly because New Zealand are expected to qualify, West Indies have a great chance at home, and no one can write off Afghanistan after what they did in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
Afghanistan will face Uganda in opening game of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on June 3.
Afghanistan were not part of the first two editions of the ICC T20 World Cups in 2007 and 2009. They made their debut in the 2010 edition, which took place in West Indies. Since then, they have become a consistent team in this tournament. The Afghans have played 22 matches in the ICC T20 World Cup and won seven games. But this time, they will be more confident about doing better. After a rather successful ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, no one can write them off.
Adding to that, the slow conditions in West Indies will suit them more. The Afghans will face Uganda in their opening match on June 2 in Guyana. At the same venue, they will face New Zealand on June 7, which will be an important game because they can certainly surprise the Blackcaps. Afghanistan will then face Papua New Guinea in their third game on June 13 in Trinidad. The Afghan team will face the hosts, West Indies, in their last group match on June 17 in St. Lucia, which might decide which will be the second team apart from New Zealand, which will qualify for Super 8.
